The doctor was great. The entire rest of the experience was negative stars. If I had a staff like this one I would fire each one. I walked in, and was immediately asked for photo ID and insurance card. I was told I had a balance due that had to be paid prior to the procedure. No hello. No how are you doing at 1 PM after a day of clear liquids, a bowel prep and then nothing by mouth prior to showing up here. I was a walking dollar sign. Taken back by the nurse who put an ipad between us and would not move my shirt cuff out of the way to see the id bracelet on my wrist, she stared at me until I did it myself. I was made to feel like an absolute nuisance to her day. The nurse anesthetist came in and said "I'll do your anesthesia, do you have any questions for me?" then shoved an ipad in my face to sign, with her body facing the way out. And I had no glasses to see what I was signing. No explanation of what she planned to do so and clearly in a rush to leave. When she came in, it seemed to move me into the procedure room, she stood at the head of the bed sighing and not speaking to me until the MD's (nurse or medical assistant) came in to actually pull the bed out of the waiting area. The nurse/medical assistant was the only person aside from the Doctor to look at me, smile, ask how I was doing. once in the procedure room the anesthesia person told me to roll on my side, said, "Okay, good night," and pushed the medication. She could not have been colder or less interested in patient interaction. After I was done I heard them talking about how they called or texted my husband and he wasn't responding. When someone finally came close enough for me to talk to them, I told them that he had not planned to leave the office and someone should go out to the waiting room. Sure enough 30 seconds later, there he was. My husband and I are both Doctors. This was the coldest, most hands off experience I have ever had in a procedure setting. The office manager should be ashamed of this staff.
Terrible billing practices. Staff maybe nice but the billing is awful. They are very aggressive in getting paid upfront for the facility fee of a few hundred dollars which my insurance covered as I had already met my deductible. So they were double paid, and took me months to get my money back. Would not listen to me when I told them I was covered by my insurance.
Diagnostic Endoscopy Center is an outstanding facility. The entire team is fantastic, from the warm and welcoming professionals at check-in to the knowledgeable, compassionate and highly skilled nurses caring for you before, during and after your procedure. The Anesthesiologist is also wonderful. As a first timer, I was very nervous and she went out of her way to calm my nerves and explain exactly what was going to happen. Dr. Schamberg, my Gastroenterologist, is the absolute best - a masterful practitioner who is patient, kind, and takes the time to ensure you feel comfortable, informed and prepared. I have already recommended Diagnostic Endoscopy Center and Dr. Schamberg to family and friends and will continue to do so.
I had a fantastic experience at DEC. The staff was friendly and super efficient. I was in and out in an hour!
Very courteous and professional. I felt at ease.
Friendly, professional staff—from admin to nurses to doctors. I heartily recommend this practice.

Doctor's office was in a nice building. It is a shame because the front desk, who acts as the face of the establishment treated my grandparents horribly. They are hispanic, but speak english and felt very disrespected with their tone. They also do not keep their front desk clean, it was dirty/greasy. They made the overall experience of how great the actual medical staff overshadowed by the horrible front desk. For a center that claims that they care about their patients, their front desk staff is the absolute worse. I would not advise the facility to anyone who is elderly, not native english speaking- or generally anyone, until management reconsiders their front staff.
